A native of Bulgaria, Europe Peter Blagoev received his education at the Bulgarian National Academy of Music. He studied violin with Joseph Radionov (/International competitions winner, soloist and concertmaster of Bulgarian National Orchestral and Stoika Milanova/ internationally recognized soloist, former student of David Oistrakh/ ). In his native Bulgaria, he was the assistant concertmaster and soloist for the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and was first violin for the Bulgarian National State Theatre of Music and the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Blagoev was a co-founder and soloist of New Youth Symphony in addition to his solo recital appearances.

Since 1993, he resides in the United States. Peter Blagoev is currently concertmaster for the Chicago Philharmonic and his most recent performance as soloist with this orchestra was in February 1999, when he performed the violin concerto by Tchaikovsky in Mandel Hall University of Chicago. He's also a Principal Second violin in Skokie Valley Symphony and member of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra and Green Bay Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin. He has served as first violinist and substitute concertmaster for the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra under Chicago Symphony's Principal Born, Dale Clevenger, and the New Philharmonic of the College of DuPage.

Mr. Blagoev serves as co-concertmaster with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra, and has played with the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra and Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra. He is a member of the Lincolnwood Chamber Orchestra and has played with Chicago Sinfonietta.

Mr. Blagoev has also served as the concertmaster of the Lake Shore Symphony and the Classical Symphony Orchestra and has also played with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago under Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Pierre Boulez and Sir Georg Solti.

Peter Blagoev is a frequent soloist of Chicago Businessmen's Orchestra with which he had performed the concertos of Mendelssohn, Lalo, and Mozart. He has appeared as soloist with Classical Symphony Orchestra, Lake Shore Symphony, and Northwest Symphony Orchestra.

In March 2002, Mr. Blagoev, who is the violinist for the New Budapest Orpheum Society, participated in" a recording of the group (Compact Disc on Chicago based Cedille Records, a classical label). He also gave the world premiere of the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra by Michael Karasis in May 2002 and recorded it on CD shortly afterwards. Mr. Blagoev was seen as the gypsy fiddler on stage for the Light Opera Works 2002 Production of the Franz Lehar's "Gypsy Love," a performance for which he received much critical acclaim and was named oustanding.

Mr. Blagoev is a very active chamber music performer. He and his wife, Iordanka Kissiova also a professional musician, founded a string quartet which performs frequently in the area and had recordings and live radio broadcast. They both can be seen performing in a scene of the 2001 motion picture Just Visiting starring Christina Applegate and Jean Reno.

Peter Blagoev is the violin and viola instructor for the University of Wisconsin Summer Camps. He, his wife and daughter are currently residents of Des Plaines, Illinois where he teaches privately in addition to his performing career. Many of his students are pursuing a professional career in music and have been accepted in such prestigious music schools as Julliard, Manhattan School of Music, Northwestern University, Roosevelt University and others.

Iordanka Kissiova received her, musical training at the Bulgarian National Academy of Music where she was a student of Professor George Bliznev and George Monov (performing artist coming from the finest Russian tradition in violin playing, associated with Professor Eidlin and David Oistrakh). As a member of the Lady’s Chamber Orchestra in Bulgaria (R. Batalova, music director), Mrs. Kissiova performed throughout Italy, Spain, France, and Germany. While being a member of the National State Theatre of Music Orchestra, she was also a string instructor and co-founder of the New Youth Philharmonic in Sofia, Bulgaria.

In the United States, she has performed with New Philharmonic, Elmhurst, Fox Valley, Lake Shore, Northwest Indiana symphony orchestras and was assistant concert master of the Chicago Classical Symphony.

Mrs. Kissiova has appeared as soloist with Chicago Businessmen’s Orchestra, performing the violin concerto by D. Kabalevsky. Currently, she is the principal second violin for the Northwest Symphony Orchestra under Paul Vermel and a member of of Illinois Symphony Orchestra in Springfield and Green Bay Symphony Orchestra in Wisconsin. Most recently, in August 2004, she gave the World Premiere of Violin Concerto #2 by Michael Karasis with Chicago Virtuosi Symphony Orchestra and Paul Vermel.

Mrs. Kissiova is a resident of Des Plaines, Illinois and very active as a private violin and viola teacher in addition to her performing career.
